LOZANO RETURNS TO MEXICO FOR SURGERY

Napoli attacker Hirving Lozano has returned to his native Mexico for shoulder surgery earlier than planned according to the statement from his Italian football club. It was stated that Lozano will miss the final set of games in the Italian football top flight this weekend as a result.

Europa League campaigners Napoli can no longer win the league ahead of the final set of games in the Italian Serie A this weekend, but they have already sealed third spot on the standings.

Their final league game of the season is at the home of Spezia. In the absence of Napoli in the title race ahead of the last game of the season, the Milan duo of Inter Milan and AC Milan will go head-to-head for the title on Sunday with AC Milan in the driving seat. AC Milan are guests of Sassuolo on the final day of the current Italian Serie A season and a draw would be enough to give them their first league title in 11 years. Inter Milan will have to beat Sampdoria at home and hope that Sassuolo can put a massive dent in Milan's bid for the league title with an home win.

On Lozano, the attacker sustained a shoulder problem while he was on national team duty with Mexico at the start of February and he continued to play with the injury until this month. With third place already sealed, Italian football giants Napoli have allowed Lozano to return home where he would undergo surgery to solve the shoulder problem. A statement from Napoli said Lozano will have an operation on his right shoulder. It was also disclosed that he sustained the shoulder injury on February 3.
Lozano has six goals in 37 appearances for Napoli this season in all competitions. His current deal at his Italian football club will expire in two years.
