Rumours about Edinson Cavani’s departure from Paris St Germain

Rumours about Edinson Cavani’s departure from Paris St Germain have been going on ever since the striker joined the club a few years ago.

The Uruguayan has not helped his case by showing his displeasure at being substituted in a recent French league match. After the game, manager Laurent Blanc insisted that he has no trouble with the striker. Instead, he stated that he would not think twice about replacing players who longer have motivation for the game. Paris St Germain are top of the table following a brilliant start to the season.

The striker has scored 15 goals in 26 appearances this season. In fact, he was one of the scorers in the 4-1 win over Troyes. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was also on the score sheet, but it was not in the Swedish striker who made the way with 10 minutes remaining in the game. Cavani appeared to visibly express his displeasure at being substituted. This victory means that the club has won the last nine matches in a row. They are certain to finish the first half of the campaign as the champions. Clubs like Lyon and Marseille have briefly tried to threaten the supremacy of PSG, but Blanc has been able to survive all those threats.

"Cavani wasn't very happy, I can confirm that. But they are never happy and I can understand that.If established players have no motivation, we will play young people. They will be happy to play, but I think the established players that I have are currently serious," said Blanc. It appears that the PSG manager has had enough of the tantrums by the striker. The club may be willing to hear his advice and quite possibly sell him either in January or in the summer. At 28 years of age, Cavani is at the peak of his career.
