Edinson Cavani once again failed to commit his future to Paris St Germain and says that he does not know what the future holds for him.
The striker has two years left on his current contract, but the former Napoli striker continues to be linked with almost every top club. It is clear that he has fallen out with manager Laurent Blanc. Cavani is no longer a regular starter at PSG and this is a decline from his previous role. Earlier, Cavani used to complain about being played on the wing, as Blanc gave preference to Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the solitary striker.
Now, the 29-year-old is no longer featuring on a regular basis. It is almost certain that he will leave Parc des Princes in the summer. Clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus, and Manchester City are some of the names linked with the forward. There are even suggestions that Cavani could return to his former club Napoli, who have once again started challenging for the title. The Uruguayan striker will find it difficult to find takers in the next couple of years since he will be into his 30s. Any move to a big club that happens in the near future could be his last before he potentially returns to his home country for a final stint.
"There is always a lot of talk about my future. On the one hand it is a good thing because it shows clubs are keeping tabs on me. But on the other hand it is a bad thing because it suggests I am not happy at any club, which is simply not true.Have I received any offers? I can only say that I have a contract for two more years and I will respect it. But then again, you never know what happens in football. There are a lot of things that are out of my hands,” said Cavani.
