Paulo Fonseca Wants to See Roma Attack More

Paulo Fonseca has claimed that he wants Roma to start dominating games going forward. In order to do so, the club are working on new tactics and techniques, according to the manager. Roma are going to take on Hellas Verona this weekend. After the recent 3-0 success over Istanbul Basaksehir,Fonseca claimed that the focus is now back on the Italian Serie A. Roma have been able to breathe a sigh of relief since the injury crisis seems to be clearing up. The likes of Nikola Kalinic, Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are back in option for the team, butNicolò Zaniolo is unavailable due to suspension.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan may not be capable of playing the full 90 minutes, but he has made a lot of progress in terms of fitness levels, according to the manager. There are also multiple opportunities for the team to rotate themselves with as many as three left-back’s available for the manager. The game against Hellas Verona is crucial with Roma trying to keep themselves in the top four places. Cagliari are just one point behind in the table but they have a game in hand. Roma have just fallen behind archrivals Lazio, who have a one-point advantage having played a game less.

Fonseca says that he is pleased with the improvement shown by the team on the whole. Due to many regular first-team players coming back, Roma’s fortunes should improve in the next few weeks.“The game is Istanbul is behind us now, we must focus only on Verona. It’s going to be a difficult match against a good team, who are fast in attack and aggressive in defence. They have the second best defensive record in Serie A this season, so it’ll be a very different game to Istanbul and very difficult,” said Fonseca ahead of the game with Verona.
