ROMA HANDED EL SHAARAWY BLOW

Italian football capital club AS Roma have reportedly been handed a major blow on the injury following the injury to Italian international winger Stephan El Shaarawy. It has been reported that the player suffered a calf injury during the Italian Serie A clash with hosts Bologna on Wednesday and that the injury might rule him out until the end of the month.

Multiple reports from the Italian media are reporting that the winger could miss out on the next three weeks due to abovementioned calf injury. AS Roma had to replace El Shaarawy in the second half of the league outing with fellow Italian football side Bologna after he sustained a calf injury.

El Shaarawy was said to have undergone medical examinations to determine the situation of things as regards the injury picked up by the player during the Bologna game in the Italian football top flight. Afterwards, it was established that there was an injury in his right calf.

The specific report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato disclosed that the 29-year-old AS Roma star will miss the league outing with Italian champions Inter Milan who are in the middle of a three-horse title race in the Italian Serie A this season. The Nerazzuri are in a fight for the title with city rivals AC Milan and present league leaders Napoli in the Italian Serie A.

In addition to missing the Inter Milan game in the league this Saturday, El Shaarawy will also sit out three weeks of football action. To this effect, the player will return to action after the Christmas break meaning that his race is run for Roma this year and he would make his return on the pitch next year.

El Shaarawy is one of the highest goalscorers in the AS Roma team this season with six goals and an assist in 21 matches for Roma in all competitions.
