Juventus defender speaks on his future amid Manchester United speculation

Juventus defender Joao Cancelo has said that he is content in Turin amid the recent speculation regarding his future. The Portugal international has been recently linked with a potential move to Manchester United this summer amid claims that he does not have a fond relationship with manager Max Allegri.
Cancelo joined the Bianconeri from Valencia last summer but he has not been able to cement the right-back role with manager Allegri opting to swap him with Mattia De Sciglio on numerous occasions over the course of the campaign. As such, there have been suggestions that he could part ways with the club this summer but Cancelo has refuted the claims saying: “I want to stay here. I hope my future is at Juventus, where I hope to win many different trophies.”

Cancelo’s comments may come as a potential blow for United during the summer transfer window, given they are keen on pursuing a young and experienced option for the right-back role. Ashley Young has been the regular choice for the position over the past 24 months, but there are doubts whether he can sustain the role next term due to the inconsistency exhibited during the recent league campaign.

The Red Devils have a talented youngster in Diogo Dalot, who has featured ahead of Young on occasions during the campaign but the Mancunian giants still appear keen on pursuing another recruit, who can be effective on both ends of the field. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side made a poor end to
the Premier League campaign
as they managed to finish only sixth.

Earlier in the year, the Norwegian helped the Red Devils to make a tremendous comeback from the early season vows to make the Champions League push, but their form was treacherous during the final months as they failed to reach their objective. United managed just one league triumph from the final six games of the season.

Juventus star open to future Premier League move

Juventus defender Alex Sandro has opened the possibility of playing in the Premier League at some stage in the future. The Brazil international was hotly linked with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain during the summer but neither of those clubs were able to strike an agreement with the Bianconeri for the left-sided defender.

Sandro has since been in good form for the Bianconeri with two assists from 12 league appearances but there remain question marks regarding his future, having yet to extend his current deal beyond the summer of 2020. In a report covered by Tuttosport, Sandro acknowledged that he has the ambition of playing in the Premier League but that may not happen in the near future as he remains content with the Bianconeri, he said: “I think, one day, who knows what will happen? I have a desire to play in the Premier League but right now I am very happy where I am at, the club I am at [Juventus], the league I am playing in. So today my only thought is to continue where I am because that’s where I feel happy.”

“United were widely fancied to make an approach for Sandro during the summer but a move never came about with the hierarchy being reluctant to spend over the odds for any recruit. Moreover, “
Jose Mourinho had been impressed with what he had seen of Luke Shaw during pre-season and this “pretty ended the prospect “of Sandro making the move to the Theatre of Dreams.

Since then, Shaw has gone on to sign a long-term contract with the Red Devils on the back of winning the club’s Player of the Month award in August and the club seem content with the options currently available. United’s summer signing Diogo Dalot is capable of slotting into either side of the central defence and both him and Ashley Young offer the added depth on the left side of the backline.
