Former Arsenal ace believes Aaron Ramsey has shown more commitment than Mesut Ozil

Former Arsenal ace John Hartson believes outgoing midfielder Aaron Ramsey has shown more commitment in the club’s shirt unlike Mesut Ozil. Ramsey has already agreed a pre-contract with Juventus ahead of the Bosman move this summer, but he has still remained consistent with his performances for the north London side.

Speaking to TalkSPORT, Hartson admitted that he has been impressed with the workrate showcased by Ramsey despite knowing that he would be joining Juventus at the end of the season. He added that the same can’t be said about Mesut Ozil, who has found himself in-and-out of the matchday squads under Unai Emery this term.

He added that the same can’t be said about Mesut Ozil, who has found himself in-and-out of the matchday squads under Unai Emery this term.

He said: “I think the form he’s shown, where he’s had a couple of the best months in an Arsenal shirt, is a credit to him. He could have thought he’s going off to Juve and not tried, like someone else at Arsenal whose second name begins with O. He has and gone in there and showed great commitment. I wish him well for the future. Arsenal didn’t want him and he’s taken advantage of that and gone abroad.”

“Ramsey has just three months remaining on his current deal with the Gunners and he would thereafter make the move to Turin to team up with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo” and Paulo Dybala. Despite this, he has continued to perform with consistency for the Gunners over the past few weeks and his showing has earned him “a regular starting role” under the guidance of Unai Emery.

Ramsey recently returned early from Wales duty after picking up a minor thigh problem but the Gunners are hopeful that he would recover in time for the weekend’s league clash against Newcastle United. Ramsey has started each of the past two league games for the Gunners, contributing one goal in the process.
